#NFL🏈 - Steelers watch party a massive success besides the result!
In brief: The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted their first ever watch party in Ireland last night, a massive success if we take the result away. The event had guest speakers from Superbowl winners, hall of famers as well as Dan Rooney, Head of Business Development and Strategy for the Steelers.
The event was packed with kids and adults of all ages decked in Steelers gear, and it will only help to grow, not only the game of NFL in Ireland, but also the Steelers brand and their Irish ties.
The Steelers got the marketing rights to Ireland earlier this year and have not looked back since, creating social media accounts under the @steelersIreland handle, the first professional american sports team to do so!
Check out the video of the ‘Terrible Towel’ waving and what it means below, and keep an eye both here and on the Steelers Ireland social media sites for more events like this over the coming months!

The Terrible Towel was created by the late Myron Cope, the Pittsburgh Steelers broadcaster who needed a way to excite the team's fans during a 1975 playoff football game against the Baltimore Colts.
Cope urged fans to take yellow dish towels to the game and wave them throughout. The stands were filled that day and the Steelers always seemed to complete terrific plays when the towels were waving. The Steelers won, 28-10.
The team moved on in the playoffs and for Super Bowl X in January 1976, the Steelers introduced gold towels with the words "Myron Cope's Terrible Towel" printed in black. The Steelers went on to beat the Dallas Cowboys, 21-17, many claiming, "thanks to the Towel."
That’s all for today. Thanks for reading!
